Joe is leaving in less than a month to go to Ethiopia for 10 days with a group of 11 people from our church. We're going to miss him SO much, but I'm so glad he can go!
The purpose of his trip? To honor God by loving on orphans and the needy! They will be spending time at the government orphanages (Kebebe Tsehai and Kechene), spending 2 days at Korah- the garbage dump, getting involved in some feeding programs, and will also get to visit our sponsored kids! I wish I could go, but with a 3 and 22 month old, this isn't the right timing... I've been very involved in the planning of the trip!
We are currently gathering donations for them to deliver to orphans and people in need. Here is the list of things we are gathering:
-Formula
-Diapers (any size)
-Underwear and socks (child to adult)
-New shoes (school age t0 adult- boys or girls)
-Disposable feminine pads (LOTS- we are gathering these for 200 girls!)
-Children's clothes (gently used- all sizes school age and up)
-Shampoo/Conditioner for african hair
-300 bars of Dove (or similar) soap
-12 deflated soccer balls
-Cough/Cold medicine for adults and children
-Oral Anti-fungals and anti-fungal shampoo
-Vitamins
If you have ANY leads on large quanities of these items, PLEASE let me know! Or if you'd rather donate money and I can buy some things, that's great, too! Otherwise, feel free to drop off donations at my house- you have about 3 weeks!

Hi! Heard about you guys from Donna Fick. Still needing anything from the list? We'd love to contribute in some way!
We also will be traveling to Kebebe Tsehai hopefully in the next month. Do you know where the center is located in Addis? We visited in June, but the GPS waypoint I took didn't save correctly. I know the center is near the University somewhere.
